Dental Visit
Regular dental check-ups are vital in maintaining healthy teeth and gums. The Indian Dental Association recommends visiting the dentist at least once in 6 months, which helps to detect and prevent Esp. Dental Caries and their associated damage to teeth!
Prevention is the hallmark of modern dentistry. Hence patient education and counselling via visual aids, Hands-on – Brushing and flossing Techniques demonstrations, and Dietary advice are rigorously followed and practiced to promote good oral hygiene and overall health!
At our clinic, preventive dentistry typically takes the form of a semi-annual examination and dental prophylaxis, known as “The Check Up.”

Dental Problems
Generally, Dental problems are distinguished into two most common groups:
Tooth-related and gum related
1. Tooth Related
Decay/Cavity destroys the layers of the tooth, such as enamel and dentin. when starchy/sticky food remains in between the teeth or on the surface of the teeth even after mouth rinsing, it leads to “Tooth Decay.”
“HOW IT HAPPENS”
Microorganisms like bacteria that survive in the mouth thrive on these leftover remnants. The acids generated by these bacteria destroy the tooth enamel leading to tooth decay.
Tooth decay can take place at any age.
2. Gum disease
Gum is technically known as Gingiva. Gum disease is caused by chronic/long-standing bacterial infection that affects the gums and bone supporting the tooth.
Gingivitis is a type of minor gum disease that affects only the gums. But gingivitis can lead to a more severe and destructive gum disease called Periodontitis.

Plaque Prevention
Plaque is a gluey deposit that clings to your teeth and gum line containing acid-producing bacteria.
If plaque and tartar build-up, it leads to discolouration of the teeth, decay and bleeding gums.
Hence, a visit to your dentist every six months can help keep your teeth clean and healthy and prevent these complications.
Tooth Decay Prevention
Cavities are easy to fix when they are small or in the initial stages.
The smaller cavities will broaden, eventually leading to Root Canal Treatment, fixing Crowns or even losing your teeth by delaying your visit. This involves more treatment, time, and money.
Gum Disease Prevention
Dentists can halt the initial sign of gum disease before it worsens.
It will cause pain, swelling, bone loss, shaky teeth, and eventually loss of teeth If the tooth and gum are left untreated.
Saving your Pockets
The costs associated with dental treatment will be less if oral problems are identified early.
Regular care and maintenance of the teeth reduce the chances of developing severe and complicated conditions.
